AVEVA responds to customer demand for migration-ready instrumentation solution

AVEVA has responded to customer demand with a new migration capability for the AVEVA instrumentation solution. This capability enables process plant businesses to more easily upgrade entire instrumentation and control design systems from smart plant instrumentation (SPI/INtools) to AVEVA instrumentation technology.

The upgrade and migration service itself is provided by The EpiSES Group.

The AVEVA instrumentation “visual engineering” benefits have been key in creating such strong customer demand for migration away from SPI/Intools. With AVEVA instrumentation, companies have the ability to create and manage instrument data through simple, graphical interfaces, rather than error-prone tables and forms, and to apply intelligent change management. Rerouting wiring, for example, is no longer a multi-stage data entry process with many opportunities for error. Instead, the wiring is simply moved to its new route by “drag and drop.” All associated connections, terminations and other data are managed automatically.

EpiSES has already successfully delivered migration services for several companies.  One recent project involved nearly 80,000 separate items of instrumentation data migrated from SPI/Intools to AVEVA instrumentation in just two weeks.
