He joined the Soteica Visual MESA team in 2002 and has participated directly in the implementation of online models for energy optimization in 15 refineries and petrochemical complexes. Dr. Ruiz earned a chemical engineering degree from Universidad Tecnológica Nacional—Facultad Regional Rosario, and a doctorate degree in chemical engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.

is manager of the process engineering department at the Repsol Química Tarragona complex.
Alonso, D. - Repsol Química, Spain
holds an MS degree in chemical engineering and a postgraduate MS degree in refining, petrochemicals and LNG. He has seven years of professional experience as a process engineer for different oil and gas companies, including activities performed during basic, FEED and detailed engineering studies. Mr. Alonso has four years of onsite experience at the Repsol Química Tarragona petrochemical complex.

has two years of experience working in Visual MESA Energy Management and Optimization. He joined Soteica Visual MESA in 2011 as an industrial consultant. He holds a degree in chemical engineering from Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya.
Ruiz, J. P. - Soteica Visual MESA, Spain
is the optimization specialist and senior developer at Soteica Visual MESA. He obtained his BS degree in chemical engineering at the Universidad Tecnologica Nacional (UTN) in 2003 and his PhD in chemical engineering (process optimization) at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in 2011. Dr. Ruiz has more than 10 years of experience developing and implementing computer-aided tools to improve the design and operation of industrial processes.
