    Trevor Kletz was a giant   in the field of process safety.  One of the founders and leaders of process safety in thought and practice, Professor Trevor Kletz, died on October 31, 2013. He had been ill for some time with vascular dementia and was living with his son, Nigel, and his family in Barnt Green, Birmingham, UK. Trevor Asher Kletz was born in 1922 in Darlington, UK, of Jewish parents, from a Russian immigrant background. His father, a shopkeeper, insisted that Trevor should better himself, and so he attended The King’s School, Chester and then Liverpool University.
