Africa African refiners are working to further develop and modernize the region’s hydrocarbon processing industry. To meet growing domestic demand, Algeria plans to double its refining capacity over the next five years. Algeria’s state-owned energy company, Sonatrach, will invest $80 billion (B) in oil and natural gas projects to boost refining and petrochemical capacity
