A. A. Faegh
Al A. Faegh is the Coking Technology Director with Chevron Lummus Global (CLG), a joint venture company between Chevron and Lummus Technology. He has more than 40 yr of experience with petroleum refining and hydrocarbon technology companies engaged in supporting and supervising the operation of delayed coking units; conducting feasibility and revamp studies to increase processing unit capacity, efficiency, and safety; troubleshooting and recommending design modifications; and identifying challenges and developing plans for improved coking unit design and performance. Faegh’s main areas of focus include conventional delayed coking and advanced carbon products such as needle coke, carbon precursors (synthetic graphite) for power storage (lithium-ion batteries), metal-grade silicon and carbon fiber. He holds BS and MS degrees in chemical engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of California (U.S.) and a senior member of the AICHE.
